This website serves as an archive for the conversations that took place in the discussion group on Facebook “Listening: Breaking the Silence on Sexuality in the Orthodox Church”.
The group was created to broaden the discussions surrounding the response to the DADT controversy in the Orthodox Church in America. Our original goal was to begin the open conversation examining various issues of sexuality in the Orthodox Church.
The group was active between January of 2011 and March of 2012, upon which time it was decided that the original conversation had exhausted the possibilities of the Facebook forum and needed to continue in other venues.
However, the input by the many participants in the discourse constitutes an important contribution to the emerging challenging dialogue on contemporary social and ethical issues and is being preserved and made available on this website.
