Message from administrators

Dear friends,

It has been a while since we reminded people of the purpose, goals and rules of this group. It seems that now may be a good time since we have acquired quite a few new members recently.

This forum is dedicated to the discussion of issues of sexuality in the Orthodox Church. It is an open group, with readership accessible to everyone on Facebook, and all are welcome, whether as active participants or observers of the discussion. All points of view are welcome, with the requirement that all posters be accorded the respect appropriate to fellow members of the body of Christ in the process of working out our mutual salvation. Ad hominem attacks, offensive and derisive language, and profanity will not be tolerated and will result in exclusion from the group at the discretion of the administrators.

Also, since this group has recently come under attack, and considering the volatility of the issues being discussed, we as administrators feel that it is important to get at least somewhat acquainted with people that we do not know personally or via FB associations. Therefore it will be appreciated if those who request to join the group send one or all three of us in advance a PERSONAL MESSAGE of introduction. Thank you for your understanding.

We would also like to respectfully request that new members take time to review the discussions and/or, at the very least, documents posted in this group. The reason for this request is that lately there seem to be a lot of circuitous discussions taking place on issues that have been already discussed to exhaustion here more than once. This does not imply that all questions have been answered; however, the discourse has been going on for a few months now. The purpose and hope of this group is to expand the discussion into the depth of theological, scriptural and historical exegesis. To rehash the same few ‘hot-button’ topics is not serving any productive purpose.
